Street Play by Child Artists Steals the Show on Republic Day
Powerful message on the Constitution and civic duties resonates with the public
Dumra / Sitamarhi | January 26, 2026:
On the auspicious occasion of Republic Day, a group of child artists delivered a highly impactful street play titled “Constitution: A Shop of Rights” at Lauhdih in the Dumra area, earning widespread appreciation from the audience. The performance not only entertained viewers with humor but also compelled them to reflect on the true spirit of the Indian Constitution and the importance of civic responsibilities.
Through satire and wit, the play highlighted how, in contemporary times, people often misinterpret the Constitution by focusing solely on rights while neglecting their duties. The young performers effectively conveyed the message that rights and duties are complementary, and that rights remain incomplete without the fulfillment of responsibilities.
The street play addressed several pressing social issues, including deceptive political practices, mob mentality, mobile phone addiction, indiscipline, and the erosion of moral values. The confident performances, sharp dialogue delivery, and coordinated group presentation by the child artists drew strong applause from the gathered audience.

The play was written and directed by institute director Maurya Pintu Singh Kushwaha, whose thoughtful script presented the core values of the Constitution in a simple yet engaging manner. At the conclusion of the programme, all performers collectively took a pledge to uphold the Constitution, culture, and moral values.
Child artists Priyanshi, Asha, Shivani, Pooja, Chandni, Divya, Anisha, Manish, Dilip, Ankit, Prashant, Munni, Kajal, Raman, Mani, Nitish, and Pooja portrayed their respective roles with remarkable understanding and sincerity.
Local residents, teachers, and parents lauded the initiative, stating that such performances are the need of the hour as they play a crucial role in spreading social awareness.
The programme concluded with resounding slogans of “Jai Constitution, Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.”
