SR Shiksha Samrat School Celebrates Gandhi-Shastri Jayanti with Grandeur
Simrahi: A grand programme was organised at the prestigious SR Shiksha Samrat School in Simrahi Nagar Panchayat to mark Gandhi-Shastri Jayanti and International Day of Non-Violence.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri by School Chairman Mahadev Mehta, Director Alpana Mehta and the teaching staff.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Mahadev Mehta said that the lives and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri continue to serve as a source of inspiration for everyone. Academic Director Raja Ravi spoke about the lives, contributions and movements associated with the two great leaders, while also highlighting their relevance to contemporary social and national events.

Principal-cum-Administrative Director Kislaya Ravi urged students to make truth and non-violence the foundation of their lives.
Several competitions were organised for students as part of the celebrations. An inter-house quiz competition was conducted at both junior and senior levels, featuring questions related to the lives, movements and contributions of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The students performed impressively, with the competition reaching tie situations on several occasions.
A painting competition was organised for pre-primary students, while students from all classes participated in Hindi and English poetry competitions. They presented both self-composed poems and works of renowned poets.

Students securing first, second and third positions in different categories were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively. The top three teams in both levels of the inter-house quiz competition were also honoured with medals and trophies.
The successful conduct of the programme was supported by Ranjit Lama, Gaurav Kumar, Krishna Gupta, Adarsh Lama, Shivshankar Mehta, Pappu Mehta, Arjun Kumar, Sudhanshu Verma, Suman Jha, Ramesh Mukhiya, Manisha Jha, Mauli Modak, Julie Mishra, Astha Kumari and other members of the school staff.
