Tree Protection Day Celebrated at SR Shiksha Samrat School Ahead of Raksha Bandhan
Simrahi: Tree Protection Day was celebrated at SR Shiksha Samrat School, located in Nagar Panchayat Simrahi, ahead of Raksha Bandhan. The programme was organised by the school’s newly formed Eco Club to promote environmental awareness and the protection of trees.
As part of the event, students showcased their artistic skills by making beautiful handmade rakhis. They then tied the rakhis around trees on the school campus and took a pledge to protect trees and the environment.
Under Mission LiFE, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, school Chairman Mahadev Mehta also planted saplings on the campus. Extending his Raksha Bandhan greetings, he said that trees, plants and the environment as a whole are the foundation of human life. Everyone must remain committed to their protection and conservation.
The school’s Academic Director Raja Ravi said that continuous environmental degradation has created several challenges, including global warming. He emphasised that maintaining ecological balance is essential to tackling these challenges effectively.
Students highlighted the importance of various components of the environment and ways to protect them through poems and speeches. They stressed that environmental protection is not the responsibility of any one country but a collective and global responsibility.
As the next part of the programme, the school’s Sports Club organised various recreational games, including volleyball and kabaddi, for junior and senior categories. Students participated enthusiastically in the sporting activities.
