Discipline, Direction, Development: Xavier’s Patna Begins Academic Year with Impactful Orientation
Orientation Marks Fresh Academic Start for Second-Year Students
Patna, July 8:
St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Patna, set the tone for the new academic year with a focused and engaging orientation program for its second-year students on Tuesday. Held on campus, the event was designed not just as a ceremonial welcome, but as a roadmap for the year ahead.
The gathering was graced by senior college officials — Rector Fr. Dr. Joseph Sebastian SJ, Principal Fr. Dr. Martin Poras SJ, Vice Principal Fr. Dr. Sherry George SJ, and Controller of Examination Fr. Dr. Alphonse Sebastian SJ. In their respective addresses, they emphasized the values of discipline, academic integrity, and holistic student development — hallmarks of the Xavier’s legacy.
Principal Fr. Dr. Martin Poras SJ, speaking to a packed auditorium, stated, “Education at Xavier’s is not limited to textbooks. It’s about shaping ethical, responsible, and dynamic individuals who are ready to lead.”
The session wasn’t a one-way lecture. In an interactive format, students were walked through the college’s academic policies, disciplinary framework, and university guidelines. Opportunities in co-curricular growth, internships, and leadership roles were also highlighted, giving students a comprehensive view of what to expect — and what is expected of them.
The orientation wasn’t just informative — it was aspirational. It underlined the institution’s unwavering focus on nurturing responsible professionals ready for both the classroom and the world beyond.
With the program concluded, students stepped out not only refreshed and realigned, but also reminded of the standards Xavier’s holds — and the future they’re being groomed for.
