Youthful Vibrance Marks Opening of Xavier University’s XEST 2025 in Patna

Patna, September 26 — The Xavier University campus in Patna turned into a vibrant arena of colour, rhythm, and youthful energy on Friday as XEST 2025, the University’s annual youth festival, commenced with much pomp and fervour. The three-day cultural conclave, scheduled to run till September 27, has drawn students and artists from across the city, setting the stage for spirited contests and creative showcases.

The inaugural ceremony was marked by a spirited welcome address from the University Chancellor, followed by performances from the host institution that blended traditional and contemporary art forms. The occasion was graced by Prof. Arun Kamal, eminent Hindi poet, Sahitya Akademi Award recipient, and former faculty member of Patna University’s English Department, as chief guest.

The festival has lined up an eclectic mix of competitions across categories — including theatre, dance, fashion, music, debates, quizzes, poetry recitations, photography, and visual arts — ensuring a wide canvas for expression.

“XEST 2025 is not merely a festival; it is a crucible where creativity, collaboration, and youthful imagination converge,” said Fr. Dr. Sherry George, SJ, Registrar of Xavier University. “Through this platform, we aim to foster not just performance but dialogue, exchange, and learning.”

With performances ranging from stage plays to high-energy dance battles and literary duels, the festival is expected to draw large audiences and provide a launchpad for emerging talent. Organisers affirmed that XEST 2025 stands as a cultural testament to Patna’s growing reputation as a hub of youthful dynamism and artistic innovation.
